When you get married, they take for granted a lot of gestures : it can be curious know their origin.
Let’s start talking about marriage customs with the exchange of rings since it is one of the highlights of the ceremony, whether religious or civil.
The spherical shape is the perfect union, love without end.
The material most widely used is gold that in the Christian religion symbolizes eternity.
Since ancient times people used the ring as a symbolic object but only in the barbaric era between lovers, it began trading them as a promise of fidelity.
In Roman times it stood out the engagement ring, meaning the promise of marriage, from the wedding ring called VINCULUM.
The wedding ring, for us Catholics, is worn on the left hand because a romantic explanation says that from the annular steps the "vein amoris" connected directly to the heart.
The historical choice of the material generally falls on gold, yellow or white, but at present time the alternatives are various, from steel to silver to platinum so as to increase the proposals based on the tastes and budget.
The models range is really wide, and I personally limit myself choosing between 4 categories
2 "HISTORIC ONES"
- Francesina that it is thin and curved:this was my choice, I renewed simply rubbing it on the occasion of our 25th wedding anniversary on July the 21st (2015 for those who read it in time ....)
Mantovana that is higher but flat
2 "INNOVATIVES ONES"
- The wedding rings proposed by prestigious brands, designed by famous designers or by the jet-set generally composed of precious metals and stones.
- The unique or handmade wedding rings created especially for the couple with unique features and personal touch.
It is my opinion that the rings, the groom bought or given by witnesses, should be equal, and should thus be chosen by the couple, it was also the first of the compromises of married life to which you are linking.
Whatever the choice made you remember that traditionally are inscribed inside with the names of their companions, and so it is a good idea not to buy them at last minute.
